I occasionally run across photographers who insist that their work be 'as is', and scorn editing an image.
To them, I say Poo! Just by choosing when to click the shutter, you are being selective of the scene around you. In the old days, you had to go into the darkroom and print your photographs on actual paper! In doing so, you had to decide on exposure and contrast (By using different grades of paper) So right off the bat you were again being selective about the image. With todays technology, you can let the camera make all your decisions for you. But that is, with out thinking about it, making choices about the image.
